My name is Sofie Lindström and I am a geologist/palaeontologist specialized in palynology. I work as a senior researcher at the Geological Survey of Denmark and Greenland (GEUS), but I am also Associate Professor at the Department of Earth and Ecosystems Sciences at Lund University.
My research focuses on the interaction between the terrestrial and marine environment during episodes of environmental perturbations in the Earth’s past, in particular the relationship between massive volcanism and mass extinctions.
This site is called Triassica after the first geologic period of the Mesozoic, the Triassic, a fascinating period bounded by two major mass extinctions temporally linked to massive volcanism. On this site I aim to post news and views on what is going on in my field of research, whether it relates to the Triassic or any other geological period.
Disclaimer: This is a personal site and any opinions and views in the posts are my own.
